Sometime in 2019, WiTCHES started appearing on Inmedia's official website. However, the exact lineup of the group was unknown, although there were rumors stating that former BADKIZ member U-Si was one of the members. Sometime in early 2022, former YOURS member Hanhee has started following the Instagram account of Inmedia, hinting that she has become a trainee at the company.
On March 11, 2022, WiTCHES made their first ever public appearance at Expo 2020 Dubai concert, which they performed two unreleased songs "Hyena" and "Fame", and also announced their group name as well as the members' stage names and official positions. On April 3, 2022, the Instagram posts featuring the original lineup were deleted and replaced by new posts featuring the new lineup, indicating Bella's departure and Mina's addition to the group. In April 2022, WiTCHES was chosen as one of the ambassadors of World Police Taekwondo Federation (WPTF) along with labelmate MEGAMAX.
They performed "Hyena" and "Fame" on the inauguration ceremony of WPTF, which marks Mina's first public appearance as a member of the group. On June 22, 2022, WiTCHES confirmed that they will debut in July 2022 in their cheering video for Indiestance 2022, and a new member was seen with the group. On July 2, 2022, WiTCHES performed "Hyena" and "Fame" at Neutro World concert, which the new member was revealed to be Bella (not to be confused with Bella), and Aya was introduced as their new leader.
They also announced their fandom name, Switch. In November 2022, WiTCHES made an appearance on Global Entertainment Expo 2022. It was also appeared that the group has a new fifth member called Lucia, however it was only assumed that Lucia is Bella's new stage name and her identity was never confirmed officially.
On December 17, 2022, WiTCHES had shared that they will be making their debut in 2023. Mina left the group the same month. In January 2023, Rucia and Seohyun were officially revealed as members of WiTCHES.
On April 19, 2023, Seohyun was officially introduced as a new member of WiTCHES under the stage name Mew. On May 13, 2023, WiTCHES revealed their new member, Minju. As of June 11, 2023, Aya and Minju were removed from the group's Instagram bio, indicating that they had left the group.
On June 13, 2023, Rucia was officially introduced as a new member of WiTCHES under the stage name Lucia again. On July 13, 2023, WiTCHES revealed their new member, Niaa. On August 8, the group name was changed to WiTCHX.
Sometime in September 2023, the group was added to Inter B. D Entertainment's website. On January 9, 2024, it was revealed that WiTCHX would be making their debut in March with a full album.
On March 8, Mari shared that their debut had been delayed for a month. On October 17, it was announced that the group would held their pre-debut showcase "Halloween Night Party" on October 31. On November 6, the group officially made their debut with the digital single "Blala" under the name W!
TCHX. On December 31, the second digital single "Beautiful Story (Highlight)" was released. On June 24, 2025, pre-orders for "Run Baby Run" photobooks opened.
On June 30, WiTCHX unveiled a series of concept photos, announcing that the single will be released on July 7.
