In May 2016, RUBY came back as a dance team with returning member Chany and four new members, following their initial disbandment in 2013. They performed until early September, with the final lineup consisting of Chany, Ina, Daeun, and Line. On October 27, 2016, HY Company announced a new girl group, Ureka, made up of the final lineup of RUBY and new member I.
N. As a result, RUBY halted their activities and was rebranded into Ureka. Ureka officially debuted on November 14, 2016 with their first digital single, "Get Down Ver.
2". After their final promotional activities in December, both the group and their agency entered a hiatus. Only five months later, in May 2017, Ureka resumed activities as a four-member girl group.
Throughout May and June, they maintained a low-profile presence. In July, Chany gave an interview with ilovePC updating the group’s status, confirming a lineup change and announcing a new release scheduled for that month. In August, a YouTube channel was created for the group, accompanied by a video with updated member profiles.
This confirmed the departures of Ina and I. N from the group several months earlier and formally introduced new member U-Na. Despite holding multiple performances and updating their social media, no official statement was made regarding their previously announced new release.
The group continued promoting until early 2018, before presumably disbanding the same year due to inactivity on their SNS since March and the deletion of their Facebook page.
