On the May 6 broadcast of Sister's Slam Dunk, it was revealed that Min Hyo Rin's dream is to debut as a girl group member, as Hyo Rin had been a trainee at JYP Entertainment but was cut by the company, and they get help from Hyo Rin's CEO, founder of JYP Entertainment, Park Jin Young as producer. On the May 13 broadcast, it was revealed that the song they'll be debuting will be named "Shut Up". On July 1, the group released the single and was met with critical acclaim and positive reviews, managing to grab an All-Kill, on the same day, the group officially debuted with their appearance on Music Bank.
The music video for the song was released on July 8, and it featured multiple guest appearances of Yoo Hui Yeol, Kim Jun Ho, Park Jin Young, Gyeongree of 9MUSES, Jackson of GOT7, and other celebrities as well. All profits from the single are reportedly donated towards helping people in need achieve their dreams. After the conclusion of season 1, the members in the group had changed.
On January 17, a representative of the show revealed that Kim Sook and Hong Jin Kyung will be returning, while Kang Ye Won, Han Chae Young, Hong Jin Young, Minzy, and Somi have been confirmed as new cast members. On February 1, the first broadcast date was revealed along with a new concept image. Six days later, it was confirmed that renowned producer Kim Hyung Suk will be producing a new song for them with Kim Eana as lyricist.
