On May 21, KD Entertainment teased TIM A through Melody Pink's Instagram as one two new girl groups they were preparing, identified with the tentative name 'atim'. By June, TIM A opened a YouTube account and began posting cover dance videos featuring five unrevealed members. On June 8, 2022, Hanbyul was officially revealed as the first member of the group, followed by Sunyoung on June 9, Soeun on June 10, Minji on June 11, and Eungyo on June 12.

However, by early July, member Soeun departed from the line-up, leaving TIM A as a four-member girl group. On September 2, 2022, TIM A's manager announced to fans through his personal Instagram that the girl group plans to debut in the first half of 2023. On October 4, their manager revealed that the agency is currently in the process of producing an album for the girl group.
