During their pre-debut period, Tahiti launched a sitcom-style reality program called Ta-Dah! It's Tahiti with the lineup consisting of: Minjae, Jungbin, EJ, Jisoo, Hanhee and Ari. The show began broadcasting on April 14, 2012 and was picked up by television stations in South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore.
Following the ending of Ta-Dah! It's Tahiti on June 16, 2012, it was announced that Tahiti would make their debut in July 2012. With the release of the teasers for "Tonight", it appeared that Ari and Hanhee were missing while two new members, Keezy and Yeeun, were added.
It was later clarified that Ari and Hanhee would be joining the group later on with their second single. However, Hanhee ended up leaving the group without debuting due to health issues. On July 24, 2012, Tahiti officially made their debut with the digital single "Tonight".
The lineup consisted Minjae, Jungbin, EJ, Keezy, Yeeun and Jisoo. In October, Tahiti unveiled the teasers for their upcoming single "Hasta Luego". EJ, Keezy and Yeeun appeared to have left the group and were replaced by Ari and two new members: Miso and Jin.
The group later returned with the new lineup on November 1, with the release of their second digital single "Hasta Luego". On July 16, 2013, the agency announced that Jin would be absent from the group's comeback that same month as she didn't fit its concept. On July 23, the group released their first mini album Five Beats of Hearts along with its title track "Love Sick" as a five-member group.
On January 22, 2014, it was announced that Jungbin would be going on a hiatus due to health issues (intra-abdominal tumor). Later on June 5, it was announced that Jungbin wouldn't be able to participate in the group's upcoming comeback. On June 11, Jerry was officially introduced as the group's newest member with the release of the second music video teaser for their third digital single, "Oppa, You're Mine", which was released on June 12.
On January 4, 2015, Tahiti released their second mini album Fall Into Temptation along with its title track "Phone Number". Jungbin and Jin did not participate in this comeback and were presumed to have left the group. Tahiti continued as a five-member group with the release of their digital singles "Skip" on November 10, 2015, and "I Want To Know Your Mind" on May 23, 2016.
On March 15, 2017, the agency announced that Jisoo had been diagnosed with panic disorder and depression, and she would sit out of the group's activities starting with their "Tahiti Japan Live in Osaka" concert on March 17. On December 8, Jisoo announced her departure from the group. This was followed by Miso accusing Jisoo of lying about her condition and reason for leaving the group in an Instagram post on December 15.
On July 25, 2018, Jerry announced that the group had decided to disband after discussing with the agency. On the same day, Ari and Jerry also shared their farewell messages to fans on their personal Instagram accounts. - Keezy, using her real name Dasom, and Yeeun, under the stage name Sina, formed the duo Verry and debuted with their first and only digital single "Black Cherry" on March 19, 2015.
