Prior to their debut, Woorin, Insun, Maxy, Jieun were members of Kongnamul Factory's girl group INY. Since late 2013, INY had been inactive and was presumed to have disbanded. On May 12, 2014, Show Works Entertainment announced that they would be debuting a five-member girl group named Smile.
G, consisting of former INY members Woorin, Insun, Maxy, Jieun and trainee Lina. On May 28, 2014, Smile. G appeared on Show Champion and performed their debut song "DoBiDoBob".
The following day, they officially made their debut and released their first and only digital single "DoBiDoBob". While the group became inactive since October 2014, the members still referred to themselves as members of Smile. G in their individual activities.
In October 2015, Smile. G made their last known public appearance at a school event as a trio, consisting of Woorin, Lina and Jieun. Shortly after this, the group became inactive once again and ultimately disbanded silently.
Following Smile. G's disbandment, the members went their separate ways. - Woorin became active as an actress, under her real name Kim Woorin.
- Insun participated in Produce 101 and debuted as a soloist in 2016 with "Emoticon". - Maxy joined the cancelled pre-debut girl group Red-L in 2016 and debuted in Red Mint in 2018, under the stage name Luney. She appeared to have left Red Mint in 2023.
- Jieun became active as a model up until 2020 and appeared to have left the entertainment industry. - Lina appeared to have left the entertainment industry.
