On June 29, 2021, celebrity news outlet Dispatch released an article revealing that One Cool Jacso had founded Good Luck Entertainment, a K-pop subsidiary with operations in Hong Kong and South Korea. Good Luck has also been preparing for the debut of their first girl group, named SKYLE, set to debut in mid-July 2021. On July 1, 2021, rumors of former Youth With You 2 contestants Jennifer Zhou and Eva Yao as members of SKYLE were confirmed in another report.
However, by July 9, the official debut lineup had changed; it no longer included Jennifer and Eva and now consisted of Ginny, Chaehyeon, Erin and lastly Ujeong, along with the reveal were their debut concept photos and the date of their debut, set to occur on July 19. Four days later, Good Luck Entertainment announced they postponed the group's debut in light of COVID-19 and the heightened measures in South Korea. A staff member was classified close contact on the July 12 and all members got tested on the same day and their results came back negative on the 13th.
On July 26, SKYLE revealed that their debut single "Fly Up High" will be released on August 4. On November 12, SKYLE announced their official fandom name to be "Castle (캐슬)". On December 9, SKYLE released the special digital single "Our Christmas".
On August 4, 2022, SKYLE announced their comeback with the digital single "Bye Bye Bye", to be released on August 18.
