Prior to their debut, Jinah, Taeyeon, Seyeon and Jiyoung auditioned and were selected by Line Entertainment for the girl group She'z, their first venture into the music industry. In addition, Jinah and Taeyeon were appointed as co-MCs with Shin Dong Yup and Kim Young Chul for QTV's show Miracle on 7th Street. On May 15, 2012, the group released the music video for "My Way" through GomTV, before making their official debut with the digital single "She'z Holic" on the 18th.
With this, the group had their debut stage on Show! Music Core on the 19th. On June 25, they made a surprise comeback with the digital single "Day & Night", which included a new ballad track of the same name and their debut song.
On September 21, the group released their third digital single "She'z Love Sick", with "UU" serving as the title track. In 2013 and 2014, the group released four digital singles as parts of their "She'z Ballad" series: "Why" on August 20, "Sick" on December 5, 2013, "Wind" on April 2 and "Again" on May 23, 2014. Following the ballad series, the group became inactive.
On July 22, 2015, Jiyoung revealed to a fan that their promotions had been put on hold for a year and a half due to undisclosed reasons. On September 26, it was announced that Taeyeon would be featured in AA's sub-unit Aoora & Hoik's digital single "Morning Noon Evening" on October 1. In late 2015, Jiyoung and Taeyeon appeared to have joined Sam Entertainment.
Taeyeon made her solo debut under the agency with the digital single "별 바람 햇살 그리고 사랑" on November 6, under her full name Lee Tae Yeon. Shortly after this, Jiyoung also debuted as a soloist with the digital single "Love Is The Key" on December 9, under the stage name She'z Jiyoung. As no further updates were given about the group, it was presumed that they had disbanded.
Following She'z disbandment, the members went their separate ways. - Taeyeon continued as a soloist under the stage name Yeoniel. - Seyeon left the entertainment industry and later got married to her non-celebrity boyfriend on July 8, 2017.
- Jiyoung was reported to be debuting in a girl group under Sam Entertainment in 2016. As the group was cancelled pre-debut, she left the agency and started working as a show host. On November 5, 2022, she got married to her non-celebrity boyfriend.
- Jinah's circumstances are currently unknown.
