See U was the first and last girl group created by Donga Planning, a company which was one of the lead music producers in South Korean during the 1980s. See U debuted with 3 members sometime in July 1999 with their debut studio album, Love Story Vol. 1.
Of the three members, Soojin was the maknae and the daughter of the CEO of Donga Planning. See U was only momentarily successful due to debuting at a competitive time in the South Korean music scene and had to compete with other more famous and popular girl groups such as S. E.
S. , Fin. K.
L, Circle and Baby V. O. X.
As a result, See U did not gain enough popularity and was disbanded the following year without ever having the chance of a comeback. Following the disbandment of See U, all the members went their separate ways: - Jinee was inactive for almost 14 years before finally returning in 2014 to release her first gospel digital single EP titled, "Love Story With Jesus Vol. 1 '주님은 아시죠'" to celebrate her Christian identity.
- Soojin was also inactive for 16 years and later returned in 2016 to debut as an indie soloist under the stage name 'Jane in J'. She has since released numerous singles and an EP. - Jihye continued to be featured in OSTs during the 2000s before debuting as a soloist in 2010 with an EP.
Shortly after her solo debut, Jihye went inactive.
