On January 8, 2014, Funny Collection announced that they would be debuting a new girl group named Scarlet in February. On February 24, profile photos for the members, Yerim, Sara, Jihye, Rabyuel and Aromi, were posted. On March 6, 2014, Scarlet made their debut with the digital single "Do Better".
On March 13, just 7 days after their debut, it was announced that Yerim would be leaving the group due to a jaw joint injury and Kimi would be joining the group to maintain the five-member system. In June, it was announced that the group would be releasing a new song in July with a four-member lineup, consisting of Rabyuel, Sara, Jihye and Kimi, unofficially confirming Aromi's departure. On July 3, the group made their first comeback with the digital single "Hip Song", a remake of Banana Girl's 2003 song of the same name.
Since August, Kimi stopped appearing at the group's schedules. Her departure was unofficially confirmed as Scarlet announced plans to reorganize the group on October 7 and all mention of her were removed from their SNS. On March 6, 2015, Sara and Rabyuel made a post expressing their gratitude to fans on the first anniversary of their debut and revealed that the group was preparing for their third song, as well as music show activities.
However, the group became inactive and was presumed to have disbanded sometime the same year. Following the disbandment of Scarlet, the members went their separate ways: - Kimi participated in Produce 101 in 2016, where she was eliminated after ranking at 44th place. She later went on to join four girl groups: BULLDOK in 2016, PAPILLON and We Girls in 2019 and onair in 2022.
She made her solo debut on August 25, 2017 with "I Am". - Rabyuel went on to join three girl groups: Pocket Girls in 2015, Cupid in 2016 and Icia in 2018, before returning to being active as a soloist. - Yerim became a member of SIOSIJAK in 2018.
