On July 2, 2023, Tamago Production revealed through their YouTube that they will launch a four-member project girl band. At the time, only drummer Chodan had been chosen with recruitments ongoing for the remaining three members. Eventually, they were revealed through their YouTube pre-debut series OSHI NO KO Project that they have chosen streamer Magenta as their bassist, internet personality Hina as their keyboardist, and former J-pop idol Lee Siyeon as their vocalist and guitarist.
And thus, by August 2023, the members were assembled and they began training and preparing for their debut. On September 24, QWER announced that they will make their official debut on October 18 with the single album "Harmony from Discord". On December 12, QWER released the remix single, "Discord (TAK Remix)".
On March 14, 2024, QWER released a comeback poster for their first mini album Manito, which was released on April 1. On July 11, QWER unveiled a teaser for the special single "Anima Power", which was created in collaboration with Riot Games' game League of Legends and is intended to promote Anima Squad, an in-game summer PvE mode called Swarm. It set for release the following day.
On August 23, it was confirmed that QWER will be having a comeback in September. On August 28, QWER announced their comeback with the digital single "Fake Idol", set to be released on September 2. On September 3, QWER released a comeback poster for their second mini album Algorithm's Blossom, which will be released on September 23.
On February 28, QWER released their second digital single, "Youth Promise". The song was entirely written and composed by the members. On April 13, QWER released "Play, We, Dew" as a promotional song for Mountain Dew ZERO.
On May 9, it was confirmed after reports that QWER would be making a comeback in early June. On May 10, QWER released "Discord (Japanese Ver. )" as their first Japanese digital single.
On May 19, QWER released a teaser for their third mini album In a Million Noises, I'll Be Your Harmony, set for release on June 9. On October 6, QWER announced that they would release a special single titled "Blue Whale" later that day. On October 7, QWER announced they would be releasing a special LP titled Beyond the Discord, sold exclusively in a few stores in South Korea starting October 13 and starting October 22 in Japan, and limited to 1000 copies.
On October 29, 3Y Corporation announced that they had terminated QWER's co-management contract with Prism Filter, taking effect after the group's first world tour's end. Lee Dong-hyeok, the producer of many of QWER songs and co-producer of the group, under Prism Filter, would still produce the group's music. On April 1, 2026, 1theK revealed that QWER will be having a comeback on April 27.
On April 6, QWER officially announced that they would be making their comeback with their fourth mini album, Ceremony.
