Underground idol agency, à la mode opened a Twitter account for their first upcoming artist, Proxima Club, sometime in July 2021, and later revealed their debut members Nabi, Yuru and Tsu the same month. On July 23, they revealed that they will make a live debut on August 8, 2021 at the Proxima Club Debut Live event, set in the DGT Art Centre in Seoul, South Korea. However, as revealed in their Twitter bio, a new, "hidden" third member will be revealed later on in the year.
On November 1, Proxima Club officially revealed the new "hidden" third member to be Mirai who was previously a member of Kurohika. On March 8, 2022, it was announced that member Tsu had re-joined the girl group. On May 31, 2022, Proxima Club released their first official digital single, titled "Proxima b".
Just four months later, Proxima Club announced that they will be departing from their agency, à la mode, and will henceforth continue on as an independent, self-producing girl group. At the same time, it was also revealed that member Tsu who had re-joined will be departing from the girl group once again due to health issues. On April 21, Proxima Club released "Uranus", their second digital single.
Soon after the release of their first comeback, on April 29, Proxima Club officially introduced Miho as their newest member. On November 16, Proxima Club released their third digital single, "1%". On December 24, it was announced that member Yuru will be graduating from the girl group on January 12.
On May 15, 2024, they introduced new member Choa. On August 19, 2024, Proxima Club released their first and only EP WASP-121 B. The EP contained their previously three unreleased songs On September 4, 2024, it was announced that Proxima Club will be disbanding following the end of their "PROXIMA CLUB Last Live Tour" on October 13.
Member Mirai, now going as Mirae, joined the new live girl group Soar-Over with whom she made her live debut on November 15, 2024.
