PIERCE made their debut as a six-member kids girl group under Clevr E&M on October 29, 2018 with their debut digital single, "Galaxy". The concept of the girl group is to create a variety of content for Clevr E&M's TV channel, ClevrTV, as well as to perform at schools and family events. On May 2, 2019, PIERCE returned with their third digital single, "Change".
Soon after the single's release, member Ryeowon left the group. As a result, a new fifth member, named Minsol, was added in June, followed by a new sixth member, named Garin. With Minsol and Garin, PIERCE released their fourth digital single, "Villain" on September 11, 2019.
However at the end of 2019, member Doha left the group, leaving PIERCE as a five-member group again. PIERCE was largely inactive through the first half of 2020, however on July 10, PIERCE made their return to release their fifth digital single, "Winner". On April 12, 2021, PIERCE announced their upcoming sixth digital single, "Nola".
It was eventually released on April 16. The following month in May, members Minchae, Minsol and Garin graduated from the group, leaving PIERCE with only Naye and Eunchae as their sole members. However, by September member Eunchae also left, leaving only Naye remaining.
In a YouTube video, it was revealed that a new fifth generation of members have been selected and were in the process of recording their seventh single. On February 8, 2022 ClevrTV uploaded a video to their YouTube channel announcing the graduation of the final member Naye, PIERCE's new member line-up, and the upcoming release of their seventh single. Naye was also featured in the video as the MC introducing the ten new members of PIERCE, without revealing any of their names.
Two days later on February 10, ClevrTV revealed that teaser video for their official seventh digital single, "Stay", which is also the first single to feature their entirely new and largest member line-up. The single was released the next day on February 11. The members were later revealed through a follow-up vlog uploaded onto ClevrTV, and consisted of: Kyuyeon, Hyunju, Dana, Siwon, Gureum, Choeun, Jaeyun, Yunseo, Nayeon and maknae Chaea.
A video uploaded to YouTube on November 21, 2022 announced that PIERCE's fifth generation lineup has disbanded, with only Jaeyun and Yunseo remanining. Two weeks later on December 6, PIERCE revealed the newest sixth generation of members, which includes Yurim, Doyeon, Jaeyoung and Minchae (a different Minchae, born in 2012). On April 6, 2024 a video uploaded to YouTube revealed the group's seventh lineup.
The members consist of An Jiwon, Choi Harin, Heo Dayoon, Kim Nayoon, Kim Juah and Park Lime. They made their debut as the 7th generation on October 25th with PIERCE's 11th digital single "Mayo Mayo". On April 25, 2025, the 7th generation released one more digital single "Icon" after which they disbanded.
On May 28, 2025, the newest 8th generation members were introduced as Jang Hyoju, Hong Yuui, Lee Sihyun, Hong Seoyul, Lee Seoi and Lee Sieun. On November 28, they released the single "Power Up".
