On March 7, 2019, Choi Yunju performed at the Gala Night event for Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 as a member of bugAboo (then known as ISE). Her departure from the company and group was confirmed in July 2021. On September 8, Yunju was featured in the trailer for the show My Teenage Girl, confirming her participation.
She was eliminated during the second mid-point check in the fourth episode, which aired on December 19, 2021. On September 1, she was revealed as a member of the upcoming girl group mimiirose under the stage name Seo Yunju. They debuted on September 16, 2022 with the single album "Awesome".
On November 21, 2023, it was announced that mimiirose had departed from YES IM Entertainment and are in talks of signing with a new agency. On March 26, 2024, it was announced that mimiirose has signed an exclusive contract with Pocket7 Entertainment.
