In February 2024, photos of trainees from The Black Label, rumored to be members of the agency's upcoming girl group, started to spread online. The photos notably include choreographer Bailey Sok, child actress and model Ella Gross and Annie Moon, the granddaughter of Shinsegae chairman Lee Myung-hee. Annie Moon was later reported to have dropped out of the group.
On February 6, The Black Label announced that they were planning to launch a new girl group in the first half of 2024. On August 16, 2024, the group's official SNS accounts were opened along with the reveal of their name, MEOVV, and a moving teaser clip. An additional teaser clip posted to the group's YouTube account feature five giant black cats, hinting at the number of members.
From August 21 to August 29, the five members of the group were revealed via social media, beginning with Ella, followed by Gawon, Sooin, Anna, and Narin, respectively. Also on August 29, The Black Label announced a new partnership with to manage MEOVV's global promotions. Debut promotional photo A pop-up store and listening event for the group's debut song was held at The Hyundai Seoul in Seoul, South Korea from August 29–September 4.
On September 2, 2024, The Black Label released a group trailer, revealing that MEOVV would be making their debut on September 6 with the digital single "Meow". On that day, the single and its accompanying music video were released. From November 8 to November 11, MEOVV posted several teasers, hinting a potential comeback.
On November 12, they released the teaser poster their second digital single "Toxic", set for release on November 18. On that day, the digital singles double title tracks, "Toxic" and "Body", were released. On March 24, 2025, MEOVV revealed through their official Twitter account that their fandom name was PAWMPAWM.
Concept photo for [[My Eyes Open VVide. ]] On April 14, a teaser posted across the group's social medias announced that MEOVV would be making their comeback with their first EP, titled My Eyes Open VVide, along with its title track "Drop Top". Prior to the EP's release on May 12, a pre-release single titled "Hands Up" was released on April 28.
My Eyes Open VVide also included the group's three previous singles - "Meow", "Toxic" and "Body". On May 8, MEOVV scored their first-ever music show win on M Countdown for "Hands Up". On July 25, a teaser image posted across MEOVV's social media accounts announced they would release their first Japanese single on July 29.
On this day, the group released their digital single "Me Me Me". On September 25, The Black Label confirmed that MEOVV was preparing for a new album slated for October. The agency started teasing the release on October 2, later revealed to be the group's fourth digital single, "Burning Up", which was released on October 14.
On November 7, MEOVV announced that they would release "Burning Up (Rush Remix)" later that same day.
