She debuted as a member of MAMAMOO with their first mini album Hello on June 19, 2014. She made her solo debut on February 13, 2019 with the digital single "Twit". On June 27, 2023, Xportsnews reported that Hwasa is currently in talks to sign with PSY's agency P NATION, as her contract with RBW expires at the end of the month.
P NATION confirmed that signing a contract is currently under discussion. Several hours later, RBW announced that Hwasa officially left the agency as her contract had expired and decided to not renew. On June 30, P NATION officially confirmed Hwasa as the new artist of the label.
On March 12, 2024, P NATION revealed the fandom name "Twits". The first stop will be held on April 20 in Seoul. On September 9, Hwa Sa announced that she would be coming back on September 19.
Later that day, the second mini album O was announced. On November 12, P NATION teased Hwa Sa's 2025 Season’s Greetings . On October 1, 2025, P NATION announced that Hwa Sa will release her new single "Good Goodbye", on October 15.
On March 20, 2026, it was reported that Hwa Sa would be making her comeback in April. On March 31, she announced the digital single "So Cute", scheduled for April 9.
