About
On September 14, 2015, Chaeyeon debuted as a member of the girl group DIA with the release of their first studio album Do It Amazing. In 2016, she became a contestant on Mnet's new survival reality show Produce 101, alongside fellow member Cathy. She finished the show in 7th place, thus becoming a member of the project girl group I.
O. I. On May 4, the group debuted with the mini album Chrysalis, and its title track, "Dream Girls".
On May 11, it was revealed that she would also be active as a DIA member whilst being a part of I. O. I.
On June 10, it was confirmed that she would be absent from I. O. I due to her activities with DIA and would not be a part of I.
O. I's first unit. On June 30, Chaeyeon was confirmed to be making her acting debut in '.
On December 29, she debuted in DIA's first sub-unit, BCHCS. On January 29, 2017, I. O.
I officially disbanded following the release of their third and final digital single "Downpour". On February 3, 2018, Chaeyeon was announced as a new MC for Inkigayo alongside Mingyu and , with their first broadcast scheduled for February 18. She stepped down from the position on February 3, 2019.
On May 29, 2020, it was announced that members Chaeyeon and Somyi would not partake in DIA's upcoming comeback with Flower 4 Seasons. On November 12, it was announced the group was preparing for a January comeback which would feature the return of Chaeyeon, but the comeback never materialized. On May 11, 2022, Edaily reported that DIA was planning on releasing their last album in August before their contracts expired.
On September 16, BH Entertainment announced that Chaeyeon had signed an exclusive contract with the company and would receive support for both her singing and acting career.
