On June 14, the subsidiary of Kiwi Media Group, Kiwi Pop, announced their first girl group, with their first teaser image and their social medias opened. On the same day, their debut date was set to June 18. Following this, from June 19 to 23, the seven members were revealed, being Minju, Lena, Anne, Soso, Seoryoung, Miya and Seokyoung respectively.
Their debut album was revealed to be titled THE PARK IN THE NIGHT Part 1 on August 15, with their debut date being September 5. The following day, a story teaser for the mini-album was released. The timeline was officially released on August 17, revealing that there will be three different units and concepts.
The units are Moon, Sun and Stars, and the concepts are named after them. It is unknown which members are in which unit, but the units are: Miya and Lena; Anne, Minju and Soso and Seokyoung and Seoryoung. From August 19 to August 22, the teasers were released to the public through units.
On August 23, the tracklist was revealed to the public, confirming that the title track would be titled "[https://www. youtube. com/watch?
v=5aNKhuKk7u0 Puzzle Moon]". On August 24, the Sun teaser photos were released. From August 26 to August 28, the jacket photos of the Sun ver.
were released in the form of Tarot Cards. On December 13, their fandom name was revealed to be "Groo", meaning "stump" in korean. On April 3, it was revealed that Soso would not be participating in the group's comeback due to health issues related to a prior ankle injury and an anxiety.
It was also announced that the group would be making their comeback at the end of April through Kiwi Media Group's new affiliated label, MILES. On April 13, the group released their first teaser for their fourth mini album, The Keys, which was released on April 28. On April 29, media outlet OSEN reported the group would be making their first comeback in over a year with their fifth mini album on May 20.
It was also reported that GWSN would return as a full group with Soso returning from her hiatus. On May 15, the group released the timeline guide for their fifth mini album The Other Side of the Moon, set to be released on May 26. On October 21, 2022, producer Swin Lee said on an Instagram live that the group's company was closed due to employees' arrear payment issues, with the staff spills that the company hasn't been paying their wages and severance pay.
It's unknown if they would move to another agency or potentially become a disbanded group. On January 22, 2023, it was revealed that the members had won the first trial of their lawsuits against The Wave Music for not fulfilling their exclusive contracts, stating that they've been neglected since 2021 and are unable to continue their entertainment activities this way. In addition, members were forced to leave their dorms since February 2022 because the company stopped paying rent, providing any practice space, didn't provide paperwork for foreign members' VISAs resulting in them having to pay fines and more, without any answers by the company for 30 days.
The defendants, The Wave Music, did not attend the lawsuit as they have been out of business since early 2022, thus the members of GWSN were granted a no-defence victory. On June 28, 2023, in an interview with Miya for the Japanese TV channel NHK, she revealed that GWSN had won all instances of their lawsuit against The Wave Music on January 22 and the group officially disbanded.
