On May 25, 2017, Girls' Alert made their debut with the digital single "Dreamgirls". On May 18, 2018, they made their comeback with the second digital single "Daddy Long Legs". In December 2018, Gyeoul left the group to focus on her studies.
On August 19, 2019, they made their comeback with the third digital single "We Got The Power". On February 1, 2020, Roots Entertainment announced that Narin, due to recent physical and mental health issues, has been diagnosed with the need for continuous hospital treatment, rest, and stability, therefore they decided to suspend her activities. On April 24, 2020, Roots announced that they had terminated all members' exclusive contracts due to the company's worsening situation caused by COVID-19 outbreak.
They later clarified the group had not disbanded, but Jisung, Seulbi, and Gooseul would continue as a trio, and Saetbyeol would join a new agency. On April 27, 2020, Roots Entertainment announced that they changed their mind signing a renewal contract with the remaining members of GsA.
